Michelin starred gastropub The Pony & Trap in Chew Magna has now launched its 2018 guest chef series, featuring some of the finest culinary talents from across the country.
Adam Reid, chef patron of The French is The Pony & Trap’s guest chef on June 28. Winner of BBC’s Great British Menu, Reid joined The French in 2013 before taking up the role of chef patron in 2016.
July 24 will see Niall Keating of Whatley Manor join Josh and the team in the kitchen. In his position as executive chef, Keating oversees two restaurants – the Dining Room which has held two Michelin stars since 2010 and Whatley Manor’s Le Mazot brassiere.
Tommy Heaney of The Great House in Bridgend heads to the South West on August 28. In his first year at the listed hotel they made it onto the Michelin Guide and in his second won Hotel Restaurant of the Year for Wales.
Dominic Chapman of The Beehive in Berkshire takes the guest chef spot on September 25. Dominic and his wife Helena took charge of The Beehive back in 2014 and the pub was recently named the seventh best in the country. Josh and Dominic shared many experiences together on BBC’s Great British Menu, but now they’ll be working together rather than in competition with one and other.
Then on October 16 another Great British Menu competitor, Emily Watkins, joins Josh in the kitchen. Chef proprietor of the Kingham Plough in Chipping Norton, Emily featured alongside Josh and Dominic Chapman in the 2014 series of GBM where she became a winner for her D-Day inspired fish course.
Last, but in no means least, is Josh’s 2015 and 2016 GBM competitor Jude Kereama, who joins Josh and co on November 27. The pair struck up a strong friendship during filming for both seasons of the show and regularly feature at each other’s restaurants.
