Flavour‑forward dining in Clevedon

Since it opened in 2017, Puro has built a reputation as a restaurant that delivers bold flavours, flawless presentation and slick service.

So when, at the end of 2021, new head chef Hayden Botha stepped up to the pass, Puro’s loyal patrons collectively held their breath as they waited to discover if he would take their beloved neighbourhood restaurant in a new direction.

Thankfully for them, and for the many visitors who make the pilgrimage to Clevedon to dine at Puro, he hasn’t attempted to reinvent the wheel – just given it his own spin.

Big flavours still reign supreme on the generous evening menus, which makes sense when you know that Hayden previously worked with former head chef Nick Fenlon at The Pump House in Bristol.

Crowd‑pleasing dishes such as whole Cornish sole with brown butter shrimps, new potatoes and braised fennel are complemented by a comprehensive wine list and expert recommendations from Puro’s owner Dom Lamy.

Make time to pay a visit to sister bottle shop and bar, Vintage & Vine (upstairs), before settling in for an indulgent dinner in the sleek below‑ground dining room.
