Captivating Cotswolds dining at Burleigh Court
This intimate manor house hotel, overlooking the Golden Valley near Stroud, offers nostalgic country charm with modern accents and a dash of luxury.
A warm-hearted welcome makes guests feel right at home right at Burleigh Court – indeed, visiting is a bit like going to stay with good friends who just happen to live in an idyllic Grade-II listed home.
The house, with its panoramic views and three acres of lush gardens, offers a bucolic bolthole for those who deserve a break from the busy day-to-day. Stylish and comfortable decor, great cooking and luxurious bedrooms provide the opportunity to drink, eat and sleep in style.
Even if you’re not staying the night, you can still visit for dinner. Start any supper sojourn with an aperitif in the old-meets-new lounge and bar. On chilly nights, bag a spot by one of the crackling fires.
Dinner is served in a romantic oak-panelled dining room where you can enjoy classic cooking with a contemporary twist. In summer, dine alfresco on the terrace or opt for a table on the patio overlooking the Mediterranean-style garden.
Chef Shaun Jones is on a mission to keep everything as local and authentic as possible and his two-AA rosette à la carte menus are built around produce plucked from the kitchen garden and ingredients sourced within a 30-mile radius of the house.
Dishes can be matched with a pick from the carefully curated wine list which features organic and biodynamic wines and a number from local boutique vineyards.
