The family-run establishment specialises in modern European cooking and seasonally changing menus, accompanied by Old World wines. It’s a year-round hit with locals and has a bustling atmosphere, particularly in the summer months when guests can dine alfresco at the smattering of on-street tables.
Light summer starters – such as Iford Manor cured ham with burrata, nectarine and heritage tomato salad, and Brixham sea bass cured with mango and lime gin – prime the palate for a curated selection of French-inspired mains punctuated by hero ingredients from the South West.
French-trimmed guinea fowl supreme is served with goat’s cheese arancini, courgette ribbons and roasted peach, while herb-crusted pork tenderloin is paired with buckwheat, braised ham hock, peas and broad beans.
The sweet-toothed will relish zingy desserts such as the lemon and elderflower posset with lemon curd, crushed Ricciarelli biscuits and lemon verbena.
