The recipient of the Award for Special Contribution (sponsored by Trevethan Distillery) is chosen by the Trencherman’s committee and will be announced at the ceremony on April 29.
Nathan Outlaw, Rick Stein and Michael Caines are just a few of the South West chefs who have collected prestigious Trencherman’s plates over the Awards’ decade-long history. The ceremony is the hottest ticket in the region’s culinary calendar: attendees are not only the first to discover which chefs, restaurants and hotels take home the coveted awards, but also get to indulge in a Champagne reception and multi-course feast prepared by the previous year’s winners (AKA some of the most talented chefs in the South West).
After a glam coastal ceremony at Salcombe Harbour Hotel in 2023, we’re heading inland to the rolling valleys of Dartmoor National Park for the 2024 Awards. The will be the grand setting for the prizegiving and supper, with dinner cooked by Bovey Castle’s head chef Mark Budd, Scott Paton of Àclèaf, Prawn on the Lawn chef-owner Rick Toogood and Andrew Swann of The Castle at Taunton.
