Bright, bittersweet and effortlessly refreshing, this smoky twist on a Paloma cocktail is made for long summer evenings. With just three ingredients, it’s proof that the simplest cocktails are often the most satisfying
If there were ever a drink designed for a heatwave, this might be it. Mezcal’s gentle smokiness meets the citrusy lift of fresh grapefruit before being topped with crisp, effervescent Navas Original Tonic. Finished with a slice of grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary, it’s an easy-drinking aperitif that’s equally at home before a barbecue or enjoyed as the sun goes down on the terrace.
Ingredients
50ml Mezcal
20ml fresh graefruit juice
150ml Navas Original Tonic
Slice of grapefruit
Sprig of rosemary
Ice
Method
1. Build in a chilled rocks glass filled with ice.
2. Stir and garnish with a fresh grapefuit slice and a sprig of rosemary.
The rosemary isn’t just for garnish – gently clap it between your hands before adding it to release its aromatic oils.
