On angels’ wings

If your spirits need lifting this autumn, we’ve found just the remedy in the new Angel Gin from The Angel – Taste of Devon in Dartmouth

The heavenly elixir was created by head chef Elly Wentworth with craft distillers Conker Spirit. With Elly’s involvement, this was never going to be a common or garden flavour experience, and Angel Gin is crafted from unusual ingredients including Devon-grown black garlic and honey – alongside the more widely used botanicals of juniper, angelica, oris and coriander seed.

The resulting profile combines a rich and umami backdrop, which is mellowed by honey and piney juniper, and which also features a light floral lift.

After much experimentation the restaurant team has decided the perfect serve to be a measure of gin over ice, topped with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic for a slightly sweeter experience or Fever-Tree Indian Tonic for a deliciously savoury aperitif, and garnished with lemon peel.

Pick up your pick-me-up at the restaurant or online.
