Da Costa brings northern Italian cooking to Bruton, drawing inspiration from Artfarm co-founder Iwan Wirth’s maternal grandfather. Originally from a small mountain village in the Veneto region, he later opened a restaurant in Switzerland celebrated for its simple, honest food.
Head chef Robert Smart continues that legacy while making the most of Somerset’s larder. Seasonal produce from Da Costa’s walled garden and the surrounding area shapes a menu rooted in Italian tradition, with antipasti such as seasonal walled garden salads and pizzaiola arancini with mozzarella.
Homemade pasta and risotto are central to the offering – pappardelle with Durslade Farm lamb ragu is a favourite – along with specials from the wood-fired grill.
Save room for the tiramisu – the classic pud is also available in a sharing portion for three.
