Refined yet relaxed coastal dining

This waterfront restaurant ticks all the boxes for lunch or dinner by the coast, combining exceptional dining and service with the beachy backdrop of Maenporth’s golden sands and turquoise waters.

It’s one of two Cornish restaurants in the Michael Caines Collection (sister to The Harbourside Refuge in Porthleven), and blends the chef’s polished style with a casual feasting vibe to create a venue for all occasions – from family suppers to date nights and celebratory meals.

Steering the kitchen is group executive chef Stuart Shaw, who joined the Caines collective in 2022. With a wealth of experience from stints at prestigious spots such as Boodles, Savoy Grill and Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, Stuart is committed to sourcing sustainably and locally.

Given the view of the briny blue from the dining room, fish is high on the must-try list. The all-day menu doesn’t disappoint, delivering dishes like pan-fried fillet of Cornish hake with chorizo, parmentier potatoes, broccoli puree and salsa verde. For those celebrating, the tasting menu is a real treat and features signature Caines dishes such as sea bream ceviche with avocado, citrus vinaigrette and coriander oil.

Trencherman’s tip: Dine alfresco year-round on a spacious terrace with heaters, blankets and a retractable roof. Indoors? Experience the glorious views across the beach to the Roseland Peninsula through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
