No other hotel is as woven into Falmouth’s history as The Greenbank, which has welcomed guests since 1640.
Today, the atmosphere at the hotel, which overlooks the Fal Estuary, is relaxed and contemporary. At the Water’s Edge restaurant and its sunny terrace, head chef Bobby Southworth and executive chef Nick Hodges showcase Cornish produce in dishes such as hake loin with lemon crushed potatoes; braised baby gem lettuce and courgette emulsion; and turmeric-roasted monkfish tail with saag aloo, mango, crab bhaji, poppadoms and curry sauce.
Before dinner, enjoy cocktails mixed with flair at the adjoining Water’s Edge bar, which offers a front-row seat to life on the harbour and the hotel’s private pontoon. For a more informal experience, head downstairs to the hotel’s pub, The Working Boat, for local craft beers and hearty food in a setting inspired by Falmouth’s maritime heritage.
Contemporary bedrooms make an ideal base for exploring the town and nearby attractions, including the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Pendennis Castle and the South West Coast Path.
