Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase unrivalled views of the waves below, making this a feast for the eyes as well as the belly.

At Restaurant at Gara, the focus is on locally sourced seafood from Devon and Cornwall, expertly prepared and ultra fresh. Delicacies such as Cornish red mullet with wild garlic chimichurri are elevated by seasonal ingredients sourced from the hotel’s kitchen garden.

For casual all-day options, Kitchen at Gara (the pooch-friendly half of the restaurant) offers crowd-pleasers such as pork and apple scotch egg with piccalilli, while Terrace at Gara specialises in hand-stretched sourdough pizzas. The Picante comes with Cobble Lane ‘nduja, rocket, Gara-fermented honey and a side helping of coastal views.

‘GaraRoo’ is the tongue-in-cheek name for the hotel’s in-room takeaway service, giving guests the option to indulge in signature dishes from the comfort of their suite.

Zero-waste practices are also followed, with leftover ingredients used to create inventive concoctions when infused in spirits.

Head to the gin bar to sample the fifth edition of Gara Rock Gin, a collab with small-batch specialist Devon Distillery. It features seriously umami flavours of yuzu, bergamot and passion pepper.
