Built in 1855 using local Portland stone, Weymouth’s Grade II-listed Old Fish Market provides a fitting home for a restaurant delivering sea-to-plate dining.
Catch at the Old Fish Market serves the freshest fish and shellfish, drawn from clear Dorset waters, amid the colour and energy of a working quayside. Its 42 covers are set within the original features of the first floor, with harbour views and light flooding through the windows of the fine clerestory roof.
Led by chef-patron Ben Champkin, the kitchen team work tirelessly to create dishes for ever-changing set menus that are crafted to surprise and delight discerning diners.
Each dish is both a celebration of Weymouth’s coastal flavours and a culinary journey through its rich maritime history. The ever-evolving menu features local favourites such as sea bass, ray jowl and Portland crab. Menus change with the tides and you’ll see the name of the boat and fisherman that landed your supper – a nod to the fishing community of Weymouth.
Downstairs at Catch at the Old Fish Market you’ll find traditional artisan fishmonger Weyfish. Arrive at the right time to see dayboats landing baskets of Portland crab and lobster, line-caught sea bass, mackerel and pollock.
