Named one of the 100 best places to stay in the UK by The Times, The Bath Arms in Horningsham is a traditional yet stylish country inn on the edge of the Longleat Estate in Wiltshire.
The relaxed, dog-friendly venue is just two hours from London and 30 minutes from Bath, and is a charming environment in which to linger over a long lunch or sumptuous supper.
Chef Jack Chapman and his talented team are committed to utilising the abundant seasonal Wiltshire produce on their doorstep. Meat and game are sourced from local farms and the Longleat Estate itself, while the fish is landed daily on the south coast.
The menu is carefully designed to reflect each season. Sample Dartmoor venison strip loin with smoked pancetta, warm sauerkraut, confit kohlrabi and preserved blackberries, followed by Beckford affogato with salted-caramel ice cream, espresso and rum.
The bar is stocked with traditional ales (many locally brewed, including the inn’s own Horning Ale), world-class wines from sister venue The Beckford Bottle Shop in Bath, and classic cocktails. Delicious snacks are available throughout the day. In summer, dining spills out onto the sunny terrace and into the lush gardens.
