Overlooking Poole Harbour, Rick Stein Sandbanks brings the chef’s seafood-focused cooking to one of Dorset’s most spectacular waterfront settings.

Upstairs, the Harbour View Restaurant serves many of the dishes that have become synonymous with The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow. Downstairs, a more relaxed bar offers an easygoing alternative.

The restaurant celebrates classic seafood cookery, from fruits de mer piled high with shellfish to indonesian seafood curry and dover sole à la meunière. Head chef Adam Wells and his team champion the straightforward approach for which the Steins are known: exceptional seafood, carefully sourced and simply prepared.

The recently launched bar menu takes a more casual direction, inviting beachgoers and harbour walkers to drop in without a booking. Seafood remains central, whether in tempura, tacos or the popular Singapore chilli crab burger, alongside favourites such as fish and chips and chicken and prawn pad thai.

Whatever the occasion, the harbour provides a fitting backdrop to a restaurant where seafood always comes first.
