At La Terra, business partners Vito Scaduto (front of house) and chef Alessandro Scola celebrate the best local market produce alongside carefully sourced artisan ingredients from Italy. The result is modern Italian cooking that draws inspiration from the country’s diverse regional cuisines.
Dinner begins with homemade bread and burrata topped with local heritage tomatoes before moving through dishes such as Mediterranean tuna tartare with mango, squid ink mayonnaise, capers and toasted focaccia, or Granchio – squid-ink linguine with Devon white crab, crab sauce, fresh chilli and lemon. Meat dishes are equally accomplished, with highlights including Wiltshire lamb rack served with broad beans, confit tomatoes, crumbled goat’s cheese and port jus. Classic tiramisu provides a fitting finale.
An extensive Italian wine list is complemented by a well-chosen selection of French and Spanish bottles.
