Corkage has all the hallmarks of a great neighbourhood bistro. Since Richard Knighting and Marty Grant transformed their pop-up into one of Bath’s best-loved restaurants, they’ve created the sort of place where sharing plates, good bottles and lively conversation naturally spill into long evenings.
Wine remains at the heart of the experience. An ever-changing list champions artisan producers, with many bottles available to drink in or take home, while regular tastings encourage guests to discover something new.
The seasonal menu embraces the whole ingredient wherever possible. Roasted monkfish cheeks with braised chorizo, tomato and chickpeas; duck brochette using liver and heart with bitter leaves; and sage and caper porchetta reveal a kitchen that’s as invested in intentional sourcing as it is in big flavours. Quality British vegetables showcase the season all year round.
The restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere and recently refurbished courtyard garden make it tempting to upgrade from a glass of wine and nibbles to a full evening’s feast.
