Chez Dominique adds a touch of Parisian spirit to central Bath. Run by husband-and-wife team Chris Tabbitt and Sarah Olivier, the restaurant has built a loyal following for its relaxed hospitality, thoughtfully chosen wines and confident take on French bistro cooking.
Chris draws on a background in both classical French and British kitchens, working with the best seasonal South West produce to create menus that feel rooted in tradition while making the most of local ingredients.
The menu changes regularly but might feature devilled lamb kidneys on toast, whole Cornish sole with samphire and sauce vierge, or Wiltshire lamb with sweetbreads, pea and mint. Finish with a classic clafoutis or a gooseberry tart with honey and ginger ice cream for a comforting finale. An excellent-value set menu is available for lunch and on selected early evenings.
The intimate dining is matched by warm service, while a private room overlooking Pulteney Weir provides one of Bath’s most memorable settings for a special gathering.
