Mark Hix’s Cocktail Market

Hix Soho may be temporarily closed but cocktail fans can get Mark Hix’s celebrated cocktails delivered to their home for sofa sipping par excellence

Mark Hix, of Trencherman’s restaurant The Oyster & Fish House, has recently launched his own line of luscious pre-mixed cocktails . The chef and restaurateur has form when it comes to cocktails: he owns cocktail haunt Mark’s Bar in the basement of Hix Soho (and has created numerous pop-up bars in the city) which is celebrated for its unusual range of drinks and stylish presentation.

Loyal fans and those yet to discover these fabulous cocktail creations can now create the Mark’s Bar experience at home as his most popular drinks have been crafted in a collaboration with online retailer Cocktail Market for direct-to-door delivery throughout the UK.

Mark has picked four of his classic concoctions, choose between:

Bergameister

This beautiful and eminently drinkable creation combines Plymouth Gin, fresh lemon, rhubarb, bergamot and vanilla. Those who want to take the experience next level are advised to shake the concoction with fresh egg white and ice before serving for a light foam finish.

Hix Negroni

A classic creation which blends Plymouth Gin, Campari and Antica Formula Carpano vermouth. For the perfect serve, pour over cubed ice and garnish with a freshly cut twist of orange peel.

Dorset Donkey

Silky smooth with a firm kick, Hix’s Dorset Donkey is a spin on the classic Moscow Mule and combines Black Cow vodka, crème de mûre, fresh ginger and lime. For the perfect serve, pour into a tall glass filled with cubed ice and top with chilled soda water. Stir carefully and toss in some berries and sage to garnish.

Temperley Sour

I created this when I picked a few handfuls of crab apples at my house in Dorset and made them into an apple syrup. I used that syrup with Julian Temperley’s Somerset Cider Brandy in a West Country takeover of a classic whisky sour’, says Mark. This South West-inspired cocktail uses 3 Year Somerset Cider Brandy, Somerset Pomona, fresh lemon and Cox and Bramley apple. For the perfect serve, shake the drink with fresh egg white and ice, before straining into a cocktail glass.

The cocktail mixtures are freshly made using premium spirits and quality ingredients. Which will you choose?
