Stay the night

The sister establishment and neighbour to grown‑ups‑only Scarlet Hotel shares the same sustainable ethos as its sibling. Here, however, it’s packaged as a Scandi‑inspired retreat for families and creatives.

A swish spa, art classes, yoga sessions, wellbeing gatherings and feasting events make the hotel pulse with connectivity and innovation. There’s also plenty to keep kids entertained, while everyone will enjoy the quality cooking.

Eating options come in a variety of forms. At laid‑back and brightly coloured Wild Cafe, locally caught mussels cooked in a white wine sauce are a perennial hit.

There’s also a minimal‑waste bakery, where favourites include cinnamon buns, rosemary and sea‑salt twists and sourdough loaves – a selection of which are made without bleached or refined flours and sugars.

Restaurant Ogo (‘cave’ in Cornish) charms with its daily changing menu, which leverages the freshest local and seasonal produce. This is where the team of chefs create a veritable feast of sea, garden and field. An amazing 90–95 per cent of the menu is made using Cornish produce and is influenced by foraged finds on the coastline.

The creative and Cornish-led menu is matched in provenance creds by an exclusively Cornish wine list of organic and biodynamic finds.

Trencherman’s tip

The golden sands of Mawgan Porth beach are a mere stone’s throw away and Bedruthan is near the South West Coast Path – perfect, as the hotel is also dog friendly.
