Harbour House occupies one of Bristol’s most distinctive waterfront buildings. Thought to have been designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel as his private boathouse, and later home to Banksy’s first solo exhibition, it’s a place where the city’s maritime and creative histories converge.
Today, the restaurant champions relaxed all-day dining built around seasonal produce and sustainably sourced seafood. The menu changes regularly, but dishes such as cured monkfish with pickled ginger and Greek yogurt, roasted cod with saffron lobster bisque and wild garlic stems, and a bone-in sirloin with king prawns and king oyster mushrooms demonstrate the kitchen’s confident, ingredient-led approach.
Inside, vaulted ceilings and verdant plants create a warm, informal setting, while the waterside terrace remains one of the city’s best places to linger over lunch or a sundown aperitif.
The drinks list is well considered, with English sparkling wines taking centre stage alongside local beers and carefully crafted cocktails.
