The View Restaurant at Sandy Park

Perched on the eighth floor of Courtyard by Marriott at Sandy Park, The View feels less like a hotel restaurant and more like an independent family-run venture that happens to enjoy one of Exeter’s best panoramas.

The Mason family is at the heart of the operation. Matt Mason leads the kitchen, wife Joanne oversees front of house and son Charlie brings his expertise to the wine list. Together they have created a restaurant built on warm hospitality and a shared appreciation for Devon’s produce.

Matt’s longstanding relationships with local suppliers underpin menus that change with the seasons. In evolving set menus and an à la carte offering, diners will find dishes such as boned and rolled pork belly with amaretti crumb and apple compote, and thai coconut broth with St Austell Bay mussels, prawns and shiitake mushrooms.

For those who prefer something cooked over fire, the Mibrasa charcoal grill menu offers quality meat and seafood with minimal intervention. Try the one-kilogram tomahawk steak for something special to share.
