Chef Guy Owen returned to The Idle Rocks in 2025, after five years away from the Reef Knot kitchen.
A sharpened commitment to trusted Cornish suppliers sees Guy and team working closely with dayboat fishermen, small-scale growers and specialist producers.
As a result, the menus showcase the breadth of the region’s produce: Guy’s Seafood Tasting Menu highlights the daily catch, while a refreshed à la carte balances clean flavours with meticulous technique.
Standout dishes spotlight key Cornish ingredients, such as in the monkfish wellington with courgette and fino sherry sauce, and red mullet escabeche with red pepper and mussels.
A concise set-lunch menu and snack selection open up further opportunities to sample the restaurant’s seasonal cooking. The team have also expanded the wine list.
The Idle Rocks offers numerous indulgences, from watching harbour life as you soak in the tub of a Grand Seaview room to enjoying cocktails on the terrace and reviving in the SEVAN Spa.
