Number Eight

After years working in some of Cornwall’s leading kitchens, Joshua Jones and Chloe Wilks crossed the border to north Devon to open their own restaurant in 2017. Since then, Number Eight has established itself as one of the region’s most exciting restaurants, earning accolades including Best Restaurant at the Trencherman’s Awards.

Joshua’s ever-evolving tasting menus are created single-handedly in the intimate quayside kitchen, blending carefully sourced local produce with bold global influences. The experience begins with an imaginative selection of snacks, including the restaurant’s signature loaded poppadom, before moving through dishes that showcase the best of land and sea, such as Appledore ling with tomato and smoked cucumber.

Chloe oversees the dining room with warmth and professionalism, ensuring the experience feels every bit as considered as the food.
