The South West’s most discerning dining guide launched its 25th edition at Lympstone Manor, the new uber luxe hotel of its chairman Michael Caines MBE, on May 9

A constellation of Michelin-starred, Trencherman’s member chefs congregated at the country house hotel to cook together for other members and foodie consumers in a feast unparalleled in the region.

Stephane Delourme of The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Chris Cleghorn of Olive Tree in Bath and The Castle Hotel’s Liam Finnegan joined Michael Caines in the kitchen to craft an exquisite four course lunch. Guests were treated to Salcombe Gin G&Ts, Sharp’s Brewery Pilsner and fizz from Hallgarten Druitt and Novum in the plush bar before the luxurious lunch commenced in Lympstone’s decadent dining spaces.

‘A guide with teeth’ is how Rick Stein describes the guide, which he has been involved with since day one and which only invites restaurants that meet the strict quality criteria demanded. This is based on Michelin, Good Food Guide and AA ratings and is the reason why inclusion into the guide is so highly sought after by chefs and restaurateurs since 1992.

This year, 144 restaurants and restaurants with rooms have made it into the guide with some new additions such as Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes, The Star Castle Hotel on St Mary’s, Scilly Isles, The Redan Inn in Somerset and Rick Stein, Sandbanks.

The Trencherman’s Guide is supported by Total Produce, Forest Produce, ResDiary, Salcombe Gin, Sharp’s Brewery, Hallgarten Druitt & Novum, Frobishers, Flying Fish Seafoods, Darts Farm, Tarka Springs, and Churchill 1795.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
