Trencherman’s Awards 2022

Following 20,000 individual votes, we are thrilled to reveal the Trencherman’s Awards 2022 winners

After a successful virtual ceremony last year, it was delightful to again host the prestigious real-life version of the Trencherman’s Awards. The awards are the result of over 20,000 votes cast by readers of the Trencherman’s Guide who wanted to give recognition to their favourite Trencherman’s member restaurants.

The cream of the South West culinary crop gathered at The Alverton in Truro on March 7 to discover which chefs, restaurants, hotels, dining pubs and front-of-house teams had scooped the coveted accolades.

Trencherman’s Awards night is an event like no other in the South West thanks, in part, to the incredible multi-course dinner and matched wines enjoyed by participants. A fabulous four-course feast was cooked by a clutch of the previous year’s winners as per Trencherman’s Awards tradition. Doing the honours in 2022 was Nick Hodges of The Alverton, Jonas Lodge of Restaurant GL50, Guy Owen of St Enodoc Hotel and Jamie Rogers of Twenty Seven by Jamie Rogers. Each dish was matched with interesting and unusual wines from Hallgarten & Novum and top-notch Cornish beers from Sharp’s Brewery. Frobisher’s provided soft drinks for attendees during the evening.
