This St Ives restaurant draws on the culinary traditions of the Iberian Peninsula. Earthy tones and handpainted Moroccan tiles set the tone for a menu infused with chef-patron Dorian Janmaat’s love of Mediterranean cooking.
The kitchen focuses on simplicity, flavour and fresh Cornish produce, demonstrated in a menu of Spanish-style pintxos and tapas, dry-aged cuts, rotisserie chicken and seafood dishes.
Begin with freshly shucked oysters followed by fried aubergine with honey and dried olive – a balance of sweet, salty and umami flavours. Mains include monkfish and prawn skewer with a piquant canarian sauce, dry-aged sirloin cooked over charcoal and served with garlic butter, and a centrepiece paella.
Desserts also lean into Spanish tradition and include classics like Basque cheesecake and silky crema catalana.
Warm Mediterranean hospitality can be experienced through sharing dishes, a curated list of southern European wines, and crafted cocktails.
