Fresh and creative in Port Isaac

Nathan Outlaw’s eponymous restaurant in Port Isaac is in the midst of a new era in which precise and delicate tasting menus have been replaced by a more casual dining experience.

Unshackled from the activity required to maintain his restaurant’s prestigious accolades (Restaurant Nathan Outlaw held two Michelin stars and scored 10/10 in The Good Food Guide), the chef is now cooking exactly the kind of dishes he loves to eat: high quality, local seafood crafted in simple ways to pay homage to the Cornish catch.

While unnecessary fripperies have been eliminated, Outlaw’s is still the place to source excellently executed fish dishes. The daily seafood set‑menu is a celebration of Cornwall’s bounteous coast and country, and demonstrates Nathan’s ever‑evolving creativity via a line‑up of innovative dishes.

Striking views over the Atlantic vie for diners’ attention with the excellent cooking and considered wine list (the team always have an on‑point recommendation up their sleeve). This may be the latest incarnation of Outlaw’s, but Nathan and his team’s ethos – built on supporting local fishermen and sharing delicious food – remains unchanged.

A £3 donation to The Fishermen’s Mission is included on every bill.
